What if Gmail had an ActiveX control that can be installed in IE 7?

that contains the ';framework'; of the mail to save the roundtrip of loading the ';framework'; of the mail itself, The gmail interface does not change often its only the mail that changes, that is the point of ajax, now why not put it in the client side with an upgradable activex control so its only the traffic of the http mail that transfers through the wire saving on bandwidth and speeding things up considerably, lessening the load on gmail server also? Why doesnt Google Labs think of such constructive things to do?What if Gmail had an ActiveX control that can be installed in IE 7?
ActiveX control isn't a good idea for a wide-used mailing service because ActiveX is usable under IE. There are a lot of people who aren't use neither Windows nor Internet Explorer.

Gmail is my favorite mailbox and I use Mozilla Firefox for web browsing (IE is vulnerable and irresponsible). If Gmail would work with ActiveX others than IE users can't use it.
