What does ';Click to run an ActiveX control on this Webpage'; mean?

And how do I stop it? The site I have to access is for work and the system will only allow IE users. Is there a way to disable this, it's annoying as heck! What does ';Click to run an ActiveX control on this Webpage'; mean?
The site has an Active X control that you do not have currently. Click on that to download the necessary Active X control. If you believe it to be safe, click on it and it will download. However, if you think it's malicious, don't.What does ';Click to run an ActiveX control on this Webpage'; mean?
ActiveX is a technology found on many websites. As a security measure, some web-browsers require the user to actively choose to activate the technology due to ActiveX being capable of spreading viruses.
go to your system controls and dissable automatic downloads is the way I think
it means that web page you are looking at won't be able to display properly unless you allow it access to active x controls should be okay allow it only on the web page your are viewing at the time. it was asked for not any others.
well there is some activeX control that is required by the site u are visitng, now since u knw the source and are damn sure the control is not mailicious u can allow the activeX control to install , though it is possible to change this notice it is not advisable cos there are loads of ActiveX controls out there that can damage ur computer ,

I'm also trying to know whattat means, if u get an answa e-mail me homie!
your firewall wants to protect you

i would not disable active x control

spyware and hackers could

walk right into your system
Active X is required to run a lot of things mostly Flash Player, so be sure you use your Virus Software so you do not download a bunch of trouble. Make sure you select trusted sites on your security settings in Internet Options.
Some sites need you to run ActiveX. This message pops up because you are using pop up blocker and have it turned On.If you do not want this message to appear, turn your blocker off and install/run ActiveX control.
