Install it as a Firefox add-on. As far as I know, this does NOT use ActiveX. I use CoolPreviews under Linux--no ActiveX there!
In Firefox, go to Tools| Add-ons and select ';Get Add-ons'; in the Add-ons window--do a search on ';cool'; (no quotes) and it should be listed.
