Can Mozilla Firefox use ActiveX control or active content just like Internet Explorer 6?

I know that Internet Explorer 6 for Windows XP Professional notifies me when it blocks ActiveX control or Active content and then lets me decide what to do, this was a turn on for Users back in the Service Pack 2 days.

But I use Firefox the most, can it do the same thing with ActivX Control and Active content? Can Mozilla Firefox use ActiveX control or active content just like Internet Explorer 6?
I think Active X is just for Windows IECan Mozilla Firefox use ActiveX control or active content just like Internet Explorer 6?
Firefox does not have the same system but you can still block ';Active Content';. The following links will do what you want.

Flashblock will block all flash objects and will unblock them if you press it. Adblock Plus will block anything it recognizes as an ad including pictures and will let most flash objects you want opening.

Good Luck!
