Can I remove internet sites that installed an activeX control in my computer? How to remove an activeX control of a site?
Yes you can. Follow the guidelines given below if you have IE7.
Go to 'Tools' menu and select 'Internet Options'.
Then on the Internet Options window go to the 'Programs' tab.
At the bottom of this tab you'll see a button called 'Manage Add-ons'. Click this to invoke the Manage Add-ons window.
On this window select 'Downloaded ActiveX Controls' from the 'Show' drop-down box.
To remove an ActiveX control select it from the list and click 'Delete'.
That's it. You may have to restart IE for the effects to take place. How to remove an activeX control of a site?
basically no. Activex is not from an internet ';site'; but more to do with a program that the site uses.
eg flash
so you have to go into the browser add ons and delete the activex. Some activex are uninstalled in add remove programs, and some have their own uninstall program parked in the folder of the program component that was downloaded and installed to your computer.
how ever it is not wise to disable activex because if you go to a site and it needs it, the site will not work and it will not prompt you to install it.
To get the prompt to install to show up, you need to uninstall everything to do with it, which is somewhat unknown.
