How risky is an ActiveX control?

I'm interested in watching some video on the following link www.tv-links.co.uk/listin... but you have to install an ActiveX control. The control can be identified though I've heard its risky. Maybe some one with a little more tech savy could check it out. Thanks. How risky is an ActiveX control?
Yes its very risky especially from that site. They use links to chinese site that are proved to be full of adware spyware viruses etc.but if you still want to see movies there download for free Firefox. Also get these add-ons for NoScript and McAfee SiteAdvisor(both free) and the google and yahoo toolbars for little better security. Don't use IE6 if a site that you don't trust tries to install an Active X control. Firefox doesn't need Active X so it's safer. How risky is an ActiveX control?
its risky. ActiveX itself is risky, it creates holes for viruses for Skilled enough person to inject harmfull code.
i haven't had any problems with it, and i watch all kinds of stuff on that site...
As long as you trust the website that you visit, there is no problem with ActiveX controls. Lots of websites like microsoft use these and they are just bits of code to help the site run better. As long as its not a super mega porn site that your visiting, your safe ; ) haha.
